To enable essential maintenance work to be completed at the data centre there will be an outage of approximately 1 hour between 07:00 and 08:00 on Tuesday 2nd January 2007. We anticipate that the downtime will be less than the declared 1 hour window but as a precaution we are declaring an ‘at risk’ window between 06:55 and 09:00 where access to services may be intermittent.
This planned downtime will enable us to complete a number of essential maintenance tasks and in addition will provide the opportunity to introduce additional Dell Poweredge servers in to the server farm and network switches.
This work will impact upon all services except Dialup and Broadband Internet access as they are provisioned seperately.

We are planning to complete additional maintenance of SATURN today in relation to the outage experienced earlier this week. The maintenance will involve taking SATURN offline, we will endevour to keep the offline period(s) as short as possible.
The work will be completed today between 11:00 and 17:00 and is anticipated to result in downtime of no longer than 30 minutes.

A problem has been discovered at the data centre which could result in stability issues with the UPS system. It has therefore been necessary for a scheduled maintenance window to be declared for 2006-08-24 between the hours of 3am and 6am.
During this window it will be necessary for us to power-down our systems in order to allow essential maintenance work to be conducted. This will result in a loss of access to all hosted websites, email and dedicated servers. ADSL and dialup customers will not be affected by this work. We have therefore given two weeks notice of this work.
The work has been specifically scheduled to result in the lowest impact on our customers by being completed during the earlier hours period.
